On 1st June, finally the Central Government announced that the CBSE class 12th board examinations got cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Also the 12th board examinations of ISC boards were abandoned too. 

This decision was taken in a high level conference hosted by our honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. In the meeting Home minister-Amit Shah,, Railway minister-Piyush Goyal, Finance minister, Ministers of Forest and Environment, industries, enterprises, etc. were present.



The PM said after the meeting that, "Finally, a decision is taken for 12th board examinations. The decision is on the side of students. The conclusion is that 12th board examinations are abolished as the health, safety and well-being of the students are our topmost priority.'

The Education Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal on 1st June tweeted that " to ensure safety and security of students, parents and teachers and to put an end to anxiety in the minds of class 12th students, it was decided to cancel the board examinations and prepare the CBSE results by an alternative well-defined criteria in a meeting chaired by our honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi " 


Which states have also cancelled 12th board examinations?


  • Madhya Pradesh

The CM of MP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the cancellation of 12th MP board examinations on 2nd June through his Twitter's account.


  • Gujarat

The state government of Gujarat has also cancelled the state board examinations of class 12th on 2nd June.


  • Uttarakhand 

Uttarakhand has cancelled the 12th Uttarakhand board examinations on 2nd June.


  • Maharashtra 

  • Rajasthan

  • Gujarat

  • Goa

  • Karnataka

  • Odisha 

  • Tamil Nadu 

  • Himachal Pradesh


How will the results be declared?

It is decided that the results of class 12th students will be compiled on the basis of a well defined criteria in a limited time frame. 

According to many reports, results will be determined on the basis of the average of the marks obtained by a student in the last two or three years ,i.e., in class10 and class11. 


Can a student give exams, if he will not get satisfying marks?

Yes, a student can give exams if he or she is not satisfied with the marks given as per the new criteria of the government. 

However, the dates for the examinations are not yet defined. So, for now you can only wait for the results. 

If you want to attend the examinations, you should contact your school principal.


When will the results of CBSE class 12th board be declared?

It is most probable that the Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the results of the Class 12th board in July. 

The results for arts, commerce and science students will be declared at the same time. 

The government's new criteria for determining results may take two or three weeks. So, you may get your results in the first or second week of July.


How to check CBSE class 12th results 2021 online?

You can check your marks after the declaration of results through many methods by:

  • Google Search Engine

  • DugiLocker, etc.


How to check CBSE class 12th (2021) results online?

  • Type this in your browser:  cbseresults.nic.in and press enter. You will be redirected to the official website of cbse of results checking. 


  • Enter all the required details like roll no. school no., centre no.,etc.


  • Then click on the submit button.


  • You will see a new screen having your result. (If you have entered correct details)


  • You can download it by the download button.
