Infinity ∞

Welcome my dear #friends#

You all are most welcome in my little world of positive and creative thinking.

Today we are going to discuss about [∞] infinity.

Actually , it is not possible to express infinity in words
but now we are going to know some information and facts about infinity .

          Infinity

Before explaining infinity ,I want to remember you your childhood .

When we were alone in open nature below the beautiful sky , we often try to find that point where the Earth and this beautiful sky seems to meet together .

And ran towards it thinking that it will be closer after covering some distance but after that long struggle , yet we didn't find success and found that it is  farther than before.

It was the wish of all of us from heart to find our  dream place during our childhood .

But when we grew up we know it is only a illusion of our eyes.

Reality is very apart from our thinkings.

Children often ask a question from us about the extent of sky and we say that it is endless.

But really we didn't know about the extension of sky.

Infinity is derived from a Latin word "infinitas

" in which "in" means " no" and "finis" means " extent or boundary or limit".

So , it means endless , unlimited or which is not bounded .
In mathematics , ∞ is a real number which can not be expressed using the digits from 0 to 9 and is endless.

Many scientists are credited for their great  contribution in explaining infinity .
Some of them are : Bernoulli  , John Wallis , Zeno , etc.

The symbol of infinity (∞) was given by sir John.

According to Wikipedia,

Since the time of the ancient Greeks, the philosophical nature of infinity was the subject of many discussions among philosophers. In the 17th century, with the introduction of the infinity symbol[2] and the infinitesimal calculus, mathematicians began to work with infinite series .

At the end of the 19th century, Georg Cantorenlarged the mathematical study of infinity by studying infinite sets and infinite numbers, showing that they can be of various sizes. For example, if a line is viewed as the set of all of its points, their infinite number (i.e. the cardinality of the line) is larger than the number of integers. In this usage, infinity is a mathematical concept, and infinite mathematical objects can be studied, manipulated, and used just like any other mathematical object
The mathematical concept of infinity and the manipulation of infinite sets are used everywhere in mathematics.
Mathematics is the science of the infinite.
In physics and cosmologywhether the Universe is infinite is an open question.

I think this is enough for today but on the next topic I will discuss about types of infinity and it's role in mathematics and physics .

And a most interesting thing ,i.e.
, , the sum of natural numbers 1+2+3+4+5+........+∞ = ?????equals what????

That's all for today , thank you for spending your great time in my blog.

Comment for feedback.
