Tauktae is an extremely severe cyclonic storm which had recently collided with the coastal regions of Indian Western States. It is the first cyclonic storm of the North Indian ocean season of the year 2021.
The origination of Tuktae is due to a tropical disturbance which arose in the Arabian sea which was observed on 13th May, 2021 by the Indian Meteorological Department. Many are saying that Arabian sea has become a building place of cyclones and this is happening due to Ocean warming. No cyclone severe like this came in front of us since 1998.

It originated from Arabian sea and was first monitored by the Indian Meteorological Department on May 13. It shifted towards the east and started taking a shape like a huge depression on May 14. It rapidly intensified itself and took a turn northwards. The tropical disturbance that has become a big storm started magnifying and after enhancing its suited as an extremely severe cyclone by the day, May 15 . From that it's effects started arising in the form of heavy rainfall, high speed winds or storms, etc in the western coastal regions like Kerela, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat. These four states got major damages due to it. The average wind speed was very high ,i.e., about 130kmph and maximum speed was nearly about 200kmph. Its major effects remained till yesterday(May 19).
